MMPI-2 Self Portrait (True, True, False, True, False, False, True)
The MMPI-2, published in 1989, “is [still] the most widely used psychometric test for measuring adult psychopathology in the world… used in mental health, medical and employment settings.”* This work began as research of the systems used to screen mental health and neurodivergency. I was surprised to find out that most of them still being used today haven’t been updated in 30+ years.
This test purportedly determines a wide host of mental variances through ten clinical scales (some of which include hypochondrias, depression, paranoia.) Among these is the Masculinity/Femininity Scale, which “measures interests in vocations and hobbies, aesthetic preferences, activity-passivity and personal sensitivity…in a general sense how rigidly a person conforms to very stereotypical masculine or feminine roles.”**
For this piece, I took the entire 567 question test.
