The Real Cost – LISEP

The Ludwig Institute for Shared Economic Prosperity’s (LISEP) mission is to help achieve shared economic prosperity for all Americans, particularly for middle- and low-income families. They are a research-based institute, and the goal of this video was to translate their data into something digestible to the average viewer.

Some recreational activities are critical to maintain an individual’s physical and mental health. They enhance social interaction and work productivity, extend life expectancy, and improve the overall quality of life. To measure the affordability of these activities, the Ludwig Institute for Shared Economic Prosperity created the Minimal Quality of Life Index, which tracks a minimal basket of seven quality-of-life expenditures and activities based on accessibility and affordability.

This explainer video translated this technical concept.
